As Donna Sternberg & Dancers marks its 40th anniversary, Thriving brings together four master choreographers, who have shaped and enriched Los Angeles’ dance landscape for decades. With artistry honed over a lifetime, these performers challenge conventional ideas of age in dance and reveal a depth, vitality, and richness that only experience can bring.
Thriving is not about looking back; it’s about celebrating what is still possible. Each work is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the human spirit, honoring both individual legacies and the collective vibrancy of LA’s cultural community.
The evening will also feature a new work with DS&D’s younger dancers, who will reflect on their own hopes and fears about aging in a profession that so often prizes youth.
Together, these intergenerational voices create a powerful dialogue on time, identity, and the enduring nature of movement.
