Join fellow garden lovers at Descanso Gardens for Cultivate: Movement!, a recurring evening of live music, dancing, refreshments, and immersive experiences in nature. 

Cultivate: Movement! invites guests to explore what it means for a plant, an animal, or a person to move through the world. Wander the beautiful grounds at your own pace and discover something new around every corner.

$30 members | $40 non-members

$10 children ages 3-12 | Free for children under 3

Inspired by the Japanese concept of forest bathing, Park Bathing includes a site-specific dance performance and interactive audience participatory activities.  Donna Sternberg & Dancers will create a dance using the architectural and botanical aspects of Kings Road Park to immerse audiences in this slice of urban nature, bathing them in the healing energy of nature and enabling them to see the park and nature itself in new ways.  The audience will follow the dancers throughout different areas of the park as the dance reflects the changing environment, opening up new vistas and allowing for personal discovery.  At certain parts during the performance, audience members will be guided to deepen their connection to nature with participatory activities such as breath work and simple movement prompts. 

Donna Sternberg & Dancers is not currently holding audition but we're always looking to connect with passionate, skilled performers interested in joining our creative community.

Our work is physically demanding, emotionally resonant, and rooted in discovery. Ideal candidates are technically strong, comfortable with improvisation, and excited by collaboration across disciplines.
