DS&D CALENDAR

Awe & Wonder is a DS&D signature performance, conceptualized and produced by Artistic Director, Donna Sternberg, exploring the intersection between science and dance by connecting scientists with choreographers.

Four choreographers create new dances inspired by their conversations with four scientists. One scientist is paired with one choreographer, dialoguing about the scientist’s field of study, which then becomes the starting point for the choreographer to create a piece.

The theme has yet to be announced.

Ancestor's Voices is a dance theater project that delves into the field of epigenetics and generational inherited trauma. Partnering with scientists who study epigenetics and therapists experienced in dealing with trauma, we conceive and conduct workshops that shape the content of the new dance work. Through emotional storytelling, we trace our ancestral roots and bring their stories to life, exploring the impact of intergenerational trauma on our present lives, both physically and emotionally.

Donna Sternberg & Dancers, a contemporary dance company, is seeking dancers with strong technique and performance skills. The work is physically demanding, technically challenging, and dramatic. Dancers must be comfortable with improvisation, enjoy the process of discovery, have a willingness to work with others, and have a passion for dance. The position includes performance pay plus a rehearsal stipend.

We will be holding auditions on September 4, 2024, at the Nate Holden Performing Arts  Center from 11am to 1pm. Dancers should bring socks and be prepared to improvise.
