Experience MoonRock! Witness Donna Sternberg & Dancers bring to life the mysteries of the universe through movement, drawing inspiration from an authentic moon rock gifted by Apollo 15 astronaut, David Scott, to the Wende Museum.
MoonRock is a performance inspired by an actual rock from the moon that was gifted to the Wende Museum by Apollo 15 astronaut, David Scott.
The allure of space exploration has captivated the human imagination since its inception.
Just as the moon rock's layers unveil its mysteries, 5-6 dancers will layer their movements, build relationships, and create imagery that will speak to the mysteries of the cosmos and its implications for humanity.
Working collaboratively with Dr. Kenneth Phillips, curator of the aerospace science program at the California Science Center, MoonRock aims to spark inspiration and contemplation regarding the profound questions about our universe and the valuable lessons it may teach us. Rather than a literal representation of the science contained in the moon rock, the dance will use elements from science to make connections and convey the wonder of the cosmos.
